Hi, I have questions about Mythbuntu.

1. Can Mythbuntu play videos stored as ISO files, without the need to mount them each time? I know VLC can do this, but can Mythbuntu do it to? All my dvds are ripped and saved in *.iso

2. Can Mythbuntu show coverart from ripped cds. All my cds are ripped, and in each “cd folder” there is a file called “cover.jpg” with the front cover; will these show up.

3. Why do you use Mythbuntu and not Linuxmce?

Right now my htpc have vista, and I am not happy with it at all. Have tried othere programs like Mediaportal, mymovies and so on, but they all crash to often.

Thanks for any answers:-)

1. Yes. In fact, if you really like VLC, you can configure myth to use VLC as your dvd viewer instead of myth's internal viewer.
2. I don't use mythmusic, so I am not sure, if you are talking about audio CDs. If you are talking bout video CDs, mythvideo can certainly do this. For music, I use Amarok.
3. LinuxMCE is overkill for my HTPC needs. It also includes a lot of home automation. Also, support for myth on ubuntu is much better, IMHO.

YES, just what I wanted to hear:-)

Hmm, sounds hard to use Amarok on a tv. But will try it out.
I was talking about cd that are ripped and stored on the harddrive as mp3/flac, and witch also has coverart named “cover.jpg” in every folder. Vista cant show them, I would have to rename them all first(not a change).

Ok, I thought the same – to much stuff there that I don’t need.

Thanks for your answer, will download and try MBuntu now. :)

MythMusic should be able to do your cover art. Enable the CoverArt visualization.

It's never worked for me with my iTunes art, but I assume that's because it's kept in some database file or something instead of in the directories...
