I'm running inkscape .45..and when doing a Effects->Modify to Path->Perspective, I get this error:

The inkex.py module requires PyXML. Please download the latest version from <http://pyxml.sourceforge.net/>.

if someone could point me to the right direction?

thanks

Install Python-gnome2, Python-gtk2, Python-xlm in Synaptic Package Manager

Hello! I have the same problem. My inkscape is version 0.46. I have already installed those packages and reinstalled them, but still, same problem. Can someone help me? What's the matter? I'm using Hardy.

Same situation here. I have the three packages installed, but inkscape complains at runtime about PyXML missing. This is Kubuntu 7.10.

This is not just a "Me too" post.

I tried to save an inkscape file as a Gimp xcf. Got the pyXml error message.

The sourceforge package will not compile. Way too many errors. I also have python-lxml and python-xml installed.

No pyXML, though...not for the sake of not trying, of course.

Next stop - Inkscape forums. I will post a reply if anything works.

Have you tried installing the latest version of Inkscape? The following worked for me http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=8957047&postcount=6
