First post and sorry if wrong forum.
Thank you for all the many screenshots, looked at every single one of them, and it looks interesting enough to give Ubuntu a shot, but I wont be downloading the ISO file, too big and don't have my cd writer setup, so I just ordered it instead.
Reason I joined this forum and going to try it was from the many screenshots.
By the way, hello.

Hello, and welcome!!!:)
Hope that you have a great experience with Ubuntu (once your CD's come in), and decide to stick around.;)

The screenshots shouldn't be what make you choose Ubuntu. Screenshots usually depend largely on the desktop environment (Gnome, KDE, XFCE), which is not unique to any distro, and the various themes, icons, and wallpapers people get from places like Gnome-look (http://www.gnome-look.org) or KDE-look (http:/www.kde-look.org).
If you're unsure which version of Linux to start with, I'd advise taking this quiz (http://www.zegeniestudios.net/ldc/) to see which ones may be best to try first.
However, if you end up trying Ubuntu, I think you'll find the community here very supportive and responsive.

I've used Linux before, its been a while though(last time was with Mandrake Linux 9), also posting from another forum (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/unixdsl) also got me interested.
The screenshots helped, it showed what I needed.

I'm a visual type of person, thats why they helped, and there is so many distro's out there, just wish I download some of them to try, being I have a satellite connection just won't work, sure I have fast download speeds, just not the fastest, a thing called FAP (http://www.dslreports.com/faq/4496) that kills you when you download too much stops me, its shared bandwidth.

Well, I have to warn you--the Ubuntu shipit CDs will take a long time to arrive. For me, it took about two months. Have you considered ordering CDs for other distributions from somewhere really cheap like LinuxCD (http://www.linuxcd.org/)? Also, you don't have any friends who have a non-shared broadband connection who can download ISOs for you? If you have one of these, downloading ISOs isn't a big deal--you start downloading one right before you go to bed. When you wake up, it's ready.

I would ask someone to take the time to download them for me and burn to CD and mail it to me, could I suppose, ordering all the time, nope.
Post rephrased.
And is this a no post count forum, though not a big deal.
