mandvd Menu Autoplay Problem

I've been working with mandvd to put a number of avi files onto a dvd with a menu and I've got it all working, but the menu doesn't load when you insert the dvd into a normal player - you have to hit menu to get it going. Any idea what haven't done. I'm using k3b to burn the physical dvd but I can't see an option in that or mandvd to set the autoplay up.
