OGG to DVD with Devede - too large

I'm trying to convert some screencasts (ogg format) onto a DVD to play in a standard DVD player using Devede. I start with a 98k file, and by reducing the video rate down to 500 from the 5000 default, my proposed output file is 400% of my 4.7Gb DVD. :)

I'm obviously doing something wrong, but after searching and following the tutorials, I still can't resolve this. The preview output and sound is fine. Just massive.

I don't know enough about video to fiddle too much with the other settings - can anyone advise me on this?

Well, "solved" this by using flv and mov files instead of the ogg versions - but why does ogg produce such large output files?
