I have been getting this error whenever I try to rip a DVD.."Cannot connect to your transcoding Daemon....", can anyone help me solve this problem?

Does the mtd log file /var/lib/mythdvd/mtd.log exist? If so what are the contents.

I checked /var/lib and I do not see any MYTHDVD folder. If this is the problem...how can I correct it?
