View Full Version : getting jack server to run in rosegarden

Hi-
I am unable to get rosegarden to work because I cannot get jack server to run. On my first install of this distro (Unbuntu Studio....had the same problem with Audiocity (didnt work...and rosegarden worked....below is error message from Jack control any help is most welcome.

qjackctl-0.3.1a-5

but on different circumstances.

Hey guys and gals take a look at this:

It has always helped me to get going. Especially take a look at realtime support and alsasequencer section.

That error message tells you that JACK wasn't able to get the soundcard you pointed it to open. My first guess to fix this would be to go into qjackctl setup panel and change your Input Device and Output Device to hw:0 rather than /dev/dsp. Secondly make sure no other apps are open that might use that soundcard (including firefox if you've played a flash movie recently).
