Problem with full screen game play

whenever I play a full screen at some point it will leave full screen for no reason and sometimes the game just close. I'm not using a weather report widget so that shouldn't be the cause right?
if anyone has any ideas it would be helpful thanks

Sometimes when a pop-up displays from a program, it makes the game turn windowed. It goes after after though

There's a bug report (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/155263) in Launchpad (Ubuntu issue tracking website) about games spontaneously leaving full-screen mode and then going back to full-screen after some time. Please add a comment there with the description of your environment: Ubuntu version, graphics card model and driver, whether you're using a 3D window manager (compiz or beryl) or a 2D window manager (metacity).
