I have been starting on my frontend config and using mythbuntu. My question is just this. Can I use the docs for mythtv on the frontend piece as far as setup usage etc and expect everything to work the same. Have any of those things be changed in mythbuntu. I was trying to boot using the live frontend cd and save all my setting to a usb drive. I am think I was impatient on my part and the process was saving everything to the usb including the file system etc. When I pulled it out and look at it there was all the files being copied and config etc. thanks in advance.

I don't quite understand what you're trying to do. Maybe you can rephrase your question and give us some examples?

I was trying to use the live cd. When I answer the initial questions myth server password etc it there were two choices:
save and start
start session
I choice save and start session.
It saved an INI to a usb stick. It proceeded to another screen and asked the same think in a different fashion. I entered the info and the program started to save to the usb again. At some point it stop and did not respond again and left the gray screen on the laptop. I think the usb stick filled being a freebie from a vendor. (only 64m)
My goal is to build a front end that will boot from a cd that has already been configured and has no hard drive. The frontend would be a hybrid -diskless since you would probably actually count the Cd as a disk in technical terms. I am trying to make it completely easy and preconfigured and take the least amount of hardware on the frontend.
