:)

as above really, this is great news; for me any native linux client runs far better than it's windows counterpart.

I rarely touch a game these days, unless it's Sim City 3000 or a great release like Doom3. However, I'll definitely go out and buy these 2 when they're released. I just wish the game manufacturers had a reliable gauge to base their linux sales on, instead of just projections based off linux binary downloads...

this is awesome news, I'll be paying for both just to show support for the developers who're willing to support us!

Great news!

I've already played Serious Sam 2 in windows. I was pleasantly surprised to have it running on an athlon 1600+ xp and an ATI 9600 pro. It even runs on cards that have no DX9 support at all. If they actually release a linux client I'm definately buying it.

As RavenSoftware was doing to majority of the work on Quake IV and the devs were being very quiet about Linux support, there was actually a pretty huge question if there would be a Linux client. Also note that iD made the announcement and not Raven, this comes as a relief to me, with the emphasis on Quake IV as an Xbox360 launch title it didn't look good for a while.

Quake 4 went GOLD today, and will be shipped to stores on the 18th.

Now if only the other developers would follow suit and make Linux clients. Oh how I wish F.E.A.R was going to have one.

So how long can we expect to wait after release for linux clients? Sounds like a couple of weeks for Quake4 but SS2 doesn't seem to specify anything.

I don't have a windows box so I don't want to end up buying one of these and waiting around for the linux client. Only ever played a demo of Serious Sam but it seemed like good fun so I'm looking forward to this.
