Yes, I went to Shipit and ordered 40 x86, 10 AMD64, and 5 PPC Breezy CDs. Which (since IIRC they contain both the Install and Live CDs) adds up to a whopping 110 Ubuntu CDs. Yah I'm nuts. But yanno what? I'll prolly give 30 ( two CD packs ) to the COSI, so... :D
Actually I'm HOPING they come before the 19th of October, 'cause I'm giving a demo of Linux to my Intro To Public Speaking Class (If you recall the "Kyral Makes an Idiot of Himself" topic ) and I'm pulling my Desktop through with FreeNX, I also figured I'd make an impression by handing out pressed Breezy CDs :P

Not really. If I had that many people that would take them, I'd do it.

I wouldn't call it a waste, if you can seriously give away that many. I typically distribute these at USFIRST competitions, which are virtually nerd conventions when robots aren't competing. I've always ran out within the first few hours of a 3 day event.

I ordered a set of 100, if for no other reason for conversions sake. I give one for every system I put out for my customer base. For my last conversion say, that was 20 systems and 2 servers. Ill probably keep a steady influx , for that reason.

it's not so hard, but for sure, all those 55 discs will have an owner. when hoary was released, i request about 40 or 50 discs. i live in veracruz, mexico and maybe at the post office in mexico or while shipping, the package was opened/damaged and some discs got damaged, they were scrathed or hit by something. there were like so little hole at the red side and you can see throught them. something like 6 discs were damaged. but all the other discs got an owner with some college classmates, etc...
i thing that all these damaged cd's will finish at the trash can. that is wasting cd's!!

I wouldn't say they were completely wasted, they were just abused so much that you couldn't use them. Atleast u had 85%-88% of the CDs that did reach their final destination where they were needed and used by your colleagues. A large percentage of them got out, that is what matters the most.
