[POLL] Possible new feature... anyone else have use for this?

Would you like to see a feature that would send an email or private message to users if their post is quoted with the quote tags? I know that sometimes I miss out of comments directed at me because I didn't realize that others needed clarification and sometimes it would simply be easier to know if you are needed than having to bookmark each thread you think someone might need you in.

I also know that this forum isn't done entirely in-house, so this feature may not be avaiable to the admins... anyone else interested in this?

That would not work out so well. You can subcribe to threads, to keep track of them.

There are at least three ways of quoting someone, and it would not be easy to track them in a meaningful way.

Plus, I quote often as to others (trim, if you do) and there is a limit on PM's.

And just in case you've missed it, there is a "Find all your posts" in the search menu at the top of each forum page which makes it easy to track your entries and follow their progress..

I use that now, but it causes me to have to go to that thread and sort through the pages to see what happened in that thread.

Thanks LaRoza for the tip of subscribing. I am going to try that, it sounds as good as anything (perhaps better for following a thread with feeds instead of navigating, scrolling, etc.

Also sorry for duplicating the old idea... guess I am not nearly as ingenious as I thought! :oops:

You can view activities on the profile, and you can see if someone is online by the sun or clouds.

You can see users who are online on the front page. This forum is far too busy to display that much realtime data anywhere else.
