Ok, check it. I am fairly new to this so be prepared for my lack of knowledge on the subject. I have a notebook pc with two separate HDD's (C:\ and D:\), each with 80gb capacity. I currently have XP SP2 installed, but I am looking to dual boot XP and Ubuntu.

1. Would it be better if I cleaned the entire D:\ and installed Ubuntu on that or would it be better if I set up a partition on the C:\ and had XP and Ubuntu on that one, then use the D:\ to store all my data?

2. Is there any way to set up a virtual machine running a mac os x guest on an Ubuntu host?

Thank you in advance for all of your help.

well in my dual boot config, i use one hdd. in my other dual boot machine, i have 2 hdds but ubuntu and xp are on the same hdd. personally, i dont think it matters but the few advantages of having both OS's on different hdds are that if one hdd dies, you still got one to work with and another is that if u have an OS that is installed on the 'beginning' of the hdd, the read times would be faster (i am not sure how much difference u will actually see tho).

and as far as virtualization goes, i have been unable to use leopard in virtual box. there is a leopard image floatin around the internet which has been patched (which i havent tried yet) which runs i believe, but the legality of this is obscure.
