Hi. Whenever I run Counter-Strike: Source through Steam through wine, I am unable to connect to remote servers. I double-click the server name, then a little window opens up with the server info. The ping is normal for a second or two, around 20-50, then it suddenly spikes up to around 1,000 and I can't access it. I exit CS:S and later, I want to browse the internet, and the pages won't load. In order to get my internet connection back I always have to restart. It seems that after trying and failing to join CS:S servers, I can't use the internet. Help?

The whole idea with the 'join server' window seems pretty common fare for steam games. I usually have to click 'join game' about a dozen times before I connect. Then I have pings in the 50s, so go figure. :)

As to the network problem, perhaps steam isn't 'closing' properly. (I always run in a virtual desktop so that I know when I click the X, everything is gone)

Thanks. I'll try running it in virtual desktop.
