I do not need cabextract for 7.10 it's already there.
The clickety method is basically go to the site, download the ies4linux, then right click and extract, then just click on the ies4linux icon that is in the folder you just extracted.
Then select run, not in terminal is ok,
And it should install perfectly with an icon on the desktop.
On one of my installs I got an error with the mfc42 cab
I was going to try to find out why and browsed to the mfc42 location which is in the ./ies4linux folder, but you can only see this in your home folder if you view hidden files.
So just go to Places/Home then view hidden files and you will see the ./ie4linux/downloads folder where the mfc42 is suppose to extract.
Anyhow I didn't do anything other then view hidden files and sort of click on the 249973USA8.exe, file which is suppose to be the extract mfc42 or something perhaps renamed, but anyhow obviously it won't do anything and says wrong verson of windows or something.
Anyhow I went back and clicked the ies4linux and then selected run again and it extraced the cab perfectly and installed perfectly.
I don't know why this happened but in anycase I also decided to installed the beta IE7 which is shown in the advanced menu button from the installation window and it also installed perfectly.
Just FYI on that.
I typically did not have any problem just running the installation but on this one occasion and I don't know why.
I hope this helps for newbies clickety method.

What I did was to create a user account called msie. I installed IE4linux there. I did this so that it would not muck up anything else and having Explorer in it's own account and not mine makes me feel safer, though I do not know if it really is safer, I think it is.
