help!! ubuntu 7.10 x64 server

i dont know why but i cant set upp my ubuntu 7.10 x64.
i have tried manny diffrent methods to install but nothing works,
i have even tried the ubuntu desktop but that one stops when the partioner comes up and the computer locks itself.

plz help me if u can.

In order to offer you help, we would need to know more about your current setup.

What type of computer are you using (make, model, cpu, disks, ethernet, etc).

One common problem I know which meets the description of your problem is a defective or bad cdrom drive.

Post additional information, as well, you may wish to go to the console during the boot process of the installation to see additional details (F6).
