Okay, so I have all these palm apps that have conduits so I could sync them to my Windows desktop (Splashshopper, ExpensePlus, DayNotez). I currently use j-pilot to sync my calendar, contacts, memos, tasks (and the keyring plugin as a replacement for SplashID).

I tried to install PalmDesktop in Crossover and Wine to sync the palm to Outlook, but it looks like Hotsync.exe is unresponsive. It shows up in the taskbar next to the clock, but you can't right or left-click on it to activate anything.

Is it even possible to sync the palm through Wine or Crossover, or should I just stick with j-pilot?

I have the same question, my solution at the moment was install a light installation of Win on vmware server. It works good.

Hi guys,
I'm quiet new to work with Palm, I just got a palm from my borther (He got a new one from his work) I found this program to sync from outlook to palm:

Take An Order (Windows Installer) 2..6 (http://www.outyard.com/product/Take-An-Order-Windows-Installer-26,59997,65001.aspx)

Is it good? What do you guys think?

Have any recommendations?

Mike.

I have a dual-boot system. I decided to run the standalone SplashID in Linux using Wine and let it sync with the Windows version's database in the Windows partition of my hard drive. It means I have to load XP to sync the Palm to SplashID, but I don't make changes in SplashID often enough for that to be a problem.

I wrote out how I did it on my site: http://www.gasanders.org/projects/splashid_linux.html

What this does for me is lets me have SplashID available when I'm using Kubuntu (which is most of the time), and I can make changes there, too. When I exit SplashID, it prompts me to sync to the Windows partition. If I made a change, I say yes. If no change, I say skip. If I want the changes on the Palm, I log out, load Windows and sync the Palm.

A kludge, true, but it works for me.

Get Palm Desktop from www.palmone.com. It's free and it works.
