Perhaps you could leave a PC online at all times and log in to it remotely over the net.

Or find an online file storage service to dump files on. But if you put personal files on someone elses server then you should encrypt the files. Otherwise they (the guys at the online file storage) can read your files if they want to.

It would be nice if such a thing existed, but the bandwidth that it would require would require the big bucks that a comercial company like Apple has. You could look into setting up your own webdav server, though.

If you have your own server you can just use rsync for something like that (backup).

I can't see paying for it though... (Then again I like EVERYTHING free!

I forget the name.

Novell is working on something like that. The folder thing. Mono... I wish I could remember....

It's not Hula, but it can tie into it. It is like a shared folder on streoids....

I need to upgrade some brain cells. Memtest69.

the .mac thing is just WebDav.
It isn't too hard to setup your own local .mac stuff with osX. It is easy with linux too, although not as integrated.

cadaver is a nice cli webdav interface too.

It seems that some members are working on it, I saw this the other day https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Ubuntu%2eMac

Not sure how far off it is, but it would be nice to have.

Nobody is working on it, that spec is all there is at the moment.
