View Full Version : VirtualBox/Flashdrive/DSL=Online Connectivity w/o reboot?

Hello gang! It's been a LONG time since I last posted anything here; life is a breeze. I hope everyone is doing fine and enjoying themselves! :KS

Anyway, I'm wondering if it's possible for me to run Virtual Box off of a flashdrive, so that I may run DamnSmallLinux on a XP machine. From there, I'm hoping I can connect to the internet through my flashdrive, virtualbox and DSL, without having to reboot the computer. Is this possible?

The reason for this is because of:

1) Convenience, since I don't have to reboot.
2) Added security for internet browsing (even though it's pretty solid anyway).
3) The biggest reason...to limit DSL's host-file access yet give it permission to go online. That way I can go online without fear of hacks to the host system and give an assurance to the owners of the "borrowed" computer against myself hacking into their files. Not that I want to hack though!

This is probably very redundant, but has anyone ever succeeded? It would be very cool to try this out!:)
