The Wine Application Database (http://appdb.winehq.org/) is a good place to start. :)

I suggest checking out ADD/Remove applications, and then just making the top right corner say all avaliable applications. Try what sounds fun. I like battle for wesnoth.

Games for Linux can be found in the Ubuntu Gaming (http://gaming.gwos.org/doku.php/games:start) List as well.

This site www.playubuntu.com seems broken... I went through the RPG section, and the descriptions are not corresponding to the game which they are supposed to describe...

ok, first go to Applications > Add/remove and select the games section (also from top right choose "all available")
you will see a long list of games you can "click-install"
then if this is not enough and you have a good videocard try googleing:
world of padman
enemy territory
teewars
there are so many good games... some info here - http://gaming.gwos.org/doku.php
AND this thread about games - http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=427205
