Hi, I'm a newb to linux and when I started I immediatly noticed ubuntu. I don't know why but I like ubuntu the best.
I personally like KDE more than gnome. But kubuntu is IMO "secondary" in the moment. I'd like to have a mac like taskbar (is it taskbar in linux?) on gnome. I know there's a lot of apps to do that on KDE but are there any for gnome?
Thank you!

We understand taskbar, sure :). technically its the gnome-panel, but you're fine. Uhm, check out System > Preferences > Theme & you can change the look (to an extent) of the title bars & taskbar. Also try playing with the properties of the taskbar itself (right-click). You can change the color, use an image, transparency, etc..

you could try gdesklets. just :
type:
$ sudo apt-get install gdesklets [text]
or
click
search it in synaptics [graphical]
or
click
add applications [graphical]
humm, maybe I misunderstood... gdesklets is an app with a lot of thingies to put on your desktop, there is a OsX like bar to trigger apps. They zoom and all.
