[SOLVED] Drivers for GEForce 7600 GS

Driver installation produces an error which says i am running an x server, which is correct, but i must exit the server, which is fine, if i knew how to do that. Can someone tell me how to exit the x server to allow me to install these drivers?

I wouldn't personally recommend using nvidia's installer for their drivers.

If you go to "System > Administration > Restricted Drivers Manager", you can install them via ubuntu's native software management tools.

Or, if you really feel you need the latest dirvers, use Envy (http://www.albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html)

Tried using envy but got the error on the screenshot.

Eventually got Envy to install it. Cant get compiz working now though.
