Are there any repositories I can add in /etc/apt/sources.list that will allow synaptic package manager to install kexi, or at least all the dependencies needed to install it manually? Thanks in advance.

I added the line, and it shows lots of new updates. However, I searched and found kexi, and it wanted to first uninstall a ton of stuff, everything from gnome, kde, wine, to you name it -- also install a bunch of other stuff, but seemingly not replacing those.

Are you using Hoary or Brezy?

Hoary. I hadn't even noticed there was a breezy yet. Would it be fairly safe to add the breezy repository?
