What was the point to splitting up the Servers & Security into 2 separate forums?

Now we have Server Environment (http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=7) and Security Discussions (http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=322)

I guess because not all security questions involve servers and not all server questions involve security.

Besides the alliteration, I thought it was mismatched before.

Ok, that's fine then. Just move bodhi's security thread over to the new forum ;)

all my security questions in the server & security forums didn't really fit the server perspective ;)

and they were unanswered also :(

I think the split up is better than to have them combined. If it is combined, it implies that security is more an issue of a server based installation.

Is ssh more of a server or security related topic? I kind of combines both elements. I kind of miss the combined section although its kind of a dead forum.

Seems to me that could be either one, especially depending on the question. I like the split, though, because encrypting your hard drive is pretty hard to think of in the same context as configuring phpmyadmin.

Ok I admit that this statement is definitely true. Because the old forum didnt get much traffic, Im afraid splitting an already lackluster user base in half will weaken the potential probability of finding a solution to a proposed post. Maybe not -- I guess time will tell

No. Neither must Firefox. People nonetheless ask questions about such things because they choose to. Or am I missing something?

I wouldn't consider the change to the be the final change. :) Its more of a stepping stone.
