View Full Version : Where to buy/download ETQW via Paypal?

So, I got a graphics card that can actually render something more than Compiz. I got the ETQW demo, was really impressed and liked it. Went to buy it - but the two online stores that they offer are credit-card only.
I don't use a credit card to buy online; I don't even had one to begin with (no need to get myself into debt when I'm doing just fine so far!). I use Paypal for everything atm online.
Does anyone know a place I can pay for a game, and download it (don't want a CD/DVD) though?

I think newegg lets you use paypal: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832133002
It's not in Canada though so the shipping is probably high ...
As for downloading the game .. I don't think there is any place that supports linux. There is http://www.direct2drive.com but that is Windows only.

Do you know anyone you can trust that can make the deal?
By the way, isn't there a computer near you who sell ETQW?

Why don't you get the debit / check card from paypal. It works fine with new egg. Its a mastercard.

I don't want a cd/dvd (haven't used one for ... even before I switched to linux/ubuntu -cough-)! I want the downloadable version.
I think I'll grab someone with a credit card to buy it for me & reimburse them.

Hmm, quick reply isn't working here. Could be something on my box but KDE has been doing a few weird things since KDE4 came out.
Anyway.....I'd like to ask the same question in case anyone else has anything to suggest, and the more post's to the thread the more chance some company will say 'hey, why not?'.
I just bought qcad from ribbonsoft via paypal, quick, simple and a decent price even if the free version has done everything I have needed for the last 4 years or so. I'm off to spend more than I should on a decent mobo and graphics card (you lost a sale with your crappy linux drivers ATI) and now I want to try it out with a few games goddamnit :)
cheers

I emailed Actvision, and they said they don't support this in any way. Since you need a CD key to play online anyway, I doubt there was much I could do.
So I just went to a local gaming store, bought the windows dvd ($45), then downloaded the linux client for it (click (http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/linux/etqw/)) and installed. It's a great game, btw. My nick is "Vadi.buntu" (hey, Vadi is what I always use, and it was taken) when online, maybe you'll see me about!
