Composite front-end for libgaim/libpurple

Hey all
I was wondering if anyone knew of a project to make a composite, perhaps skinnable front-end for libgaim/libpurple a la Adium for OS X. I'm not much of a programmer but I've been trying to find a project like this that I could help out with as its something I feel would be really cool for Linux-on-the-desktop as a whole.

Sadly enough, one of the main attractions OSX has for me is Adium. I have come to rely on the multiprotocol capabilities libpurple offers, but the simple GTK interface for Pidgin leaves something to be desired.
