Hi all,
There's a beta package for EasyKubuntu for Hoary available in French and English at:
http://olwin.free.fr/serendipity/
What it does:
- Localisation of Kubuntu
- Multimedia : Installation of codecs for playback of restricted audio/video files
- Konqueror : Most up to date PLugins (Java, Flash, Real, ...)
- File Compression Tools (rar and ace)
- Peer to Peer : aMule (clone of EMule ) and Azureus (BitTorrent)
- Skype :Freeware VoIP client
- KOffice - Office suite integrated for KDE
- gtk-qt : Theme engine for running GTK apps in KDE
- DigiKam : Photo Album Management Software
- INstalls 3D drivers for ATI and NVIDIA

cant seem to open it,
after installing the .deb (it also shows properly installed in the packet manager)
i cant find any entries like "easykubuntu", cant run it in running a command
maybe i did something awfully wrong because im a ultra noob with linux, maybe im using the wrong comand ("easykubuntu")
some help would be nice

That's strange. It should add an entry to the K-menu under 'System'.

yeah thats the strange part
it doesnt show any shortcuts in the menu, and i am SURE the package was installed
for some reason the package manager doesnt create shortcuts for a lot of programs, but atleast i can find entries on my linux partition, if i search for easykubuntu, cant find any files ore directories. ill try installing it again
maybe ill be lucky this time and qoutes some code if necesary

well...i reinstalled it again
$ cd /home/brimstone/Downloads
$ sudo dpkg -i easykubuntu-en-03.deb
Password:
Selecteren van voorheen niet geselecteerd pakket easykubuntu.
(Database inlezen ... 71261 bestanden en mappen geïnstalleerd.)
Uitpakken van easykubuntu (uit easykubuntu-en-03.deb) ...
Instellen van easykubuntu (0.3) ...
$ sudo apt-get -f install
Pakketlijsten worden ingelezen... Klaar
Boom van vereisten wordt opgebouwd... Klaar
0 pakketten opgewaardeerd, 0 nieuwe pakketten geïnstalleerd, 0 verwijderen en 155 niet opgewaardeerd.
$
yeah i know dutch...sry its not english, its just dutch because my dad can work on it propperly, or else he is totaly lost.
anyway i didnt get any errors and kynaptic shows there is a package named easykubuntu installed, but i cant seem to find it or run the command "easykubuntu"
EDIT: i just opened the .deb and searched for the installation paths.....none of the files are to be found on the paths stated in the .deb file

hi again, I had a look at the source code of the 0.3 version (just a bash script really) and the launcher is actually called via 'lancement'. Try issuing a
# lancement
command in a terminal and that should get you started.

well......after i totaly screwed up my network configurations i decided to reinstall kubuntu. now, if i install easykubuntu it all works, i am mystified i dont know how on earth i screwed up my system so bad that it wouldnt install a simple .deb strange.... 8-[ anyway, to be short, i reinstalled kubuntu...problem solved
