How to reserve a URL

I recently came across a URL I was interested in claiming, I was wondering how I could do that without using something like yahoo small business solutions, or register.com

If you want it then you must register it. You don't have to /use/ it, but you must register it if you want to keep it to yourself.

Personally I use GoDaddy for domain name registration and management (and web hosting / email hosting).

Yes, I agree godaddy is a great registrar, make sure you google promos for godaddy, you can save a few bucks.
