Dose anyone know if the ubuntu live cds will run in a ps1?

PS1 as in Play Station? Not a chance.

No way. The playstation uses a different processor, MIPS I believe. Ubuntu is compiled for x86, x86_64, and PPC.

There are some Linux and NetBSD that has been ported over to PS1. Do a search. Linux also has been ported over to the Dreamcast and Xbox. Sony made their own port for the Linux PS2 kit, but that will put you down for $200.
