I thought some of you would find these as humorous as i did.

My favorites:
1.Microsoft is not about greed. It's about innovation and fairness.
2.If you can't make it good, at least make it look good.
3.People everywhere love Windows.
4.There are people who don't like capitalism, and people who don't like PCs. But there's no-one who likes the PC who doesn't like Microsoft.

Gates did not say these...but I would not be surprised if he did.
1. Five Minutes from power on to start up is worth the wait.
2. Blue Screen of death never existed.
3.$400 Operating systems are worth while investments.
4. The more expensive the software, the better it is.
5. DRM saves lives and possibly the world.
6. WGA sets one free.
7. Ballmer did not throw a chair...

Since I know it's bound to be posted here, it should be stated that Bill Gates never said that "640k ought to be enough for anybody". The closest thing he said that even comes close to that statement is that the 640k memory limit would be suitable until they shipped the next version of DOS. If anything, Bill Gates has always been ahead of his time in predicting a computer in every home and I'm sure he isn't surprised that computers now have gigabytes of RAM.

If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25 cars that got 1000 MPG.
I think this one is a fairly smart conclusion -- death to petrol companies that control the world, they are the most evil of all not Bill Gates.

The crazy part of all this is the first thing Bill G. & Paul A. did (Altair Basic) was a work of art, what happened

Yeah but you must not also forget this immortal quote
If cars had followed the same developmental path as computers, a Rolls Royce would cost $100, get a million miles per gallon, and explode once a year, killing everyone insideThat is assuming however that it is not running Linux but rather some other OS. ;)
(edit: on the side of fairness, if the car was GNU/Linux we would get it in a box labeled 'some assembly required' and have to assemble the thing at home, while learning how to become mechanics before we can actually drive the thing)

We could get a mechanic to assemble it for us... When a car breakes we do take it to the mechanic, and if a mechanic is a professional, he would be able to build the car exactly as it should be (just like Linux pros can build a Linux system as it should be, and fix one if someone broke it)

Here's one that Microsoft doesn't follow, and some Linux Distros don't follow it well, or just pretend to follow:
Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning.
There are lessons to be learned from Bill Gates, you have to learn from others mistakes and successes even if other is your "enemy".

it's not from William III. but from someone else:
"I think there is a world market for maybe five computers." Thomas Watson, chairman of IBM, 1943.

"Software suppliers are trying to make their software packages more user-friendly... Their best approach, so far, has been to take all the old brochures, and stamp the words, 'user-friendly' on the cover." Bill Gates.
How true that is...

I usually do not respond to this stuff but I have to say I think Bill Gates is a genius. He has no reason to change his business model. He makes a product and the sheep continue to purchase it.

I agree.Human nature rules all in the game of economics. It is up to the competition to force the change.

on their machine in a nice little dual boot (i myself have a vista/ubuntu box)
& i truly dont see why people hate windows so much.
I mean to say that it blue screens because YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING TERRIBLY WRONG.
Im not a windows fanboy but i think that people have weak reasons for
hating windows, microsoft, or bill

I personally Bill Gates is both a great man and a genius. The corporation he founded is maybe not so holy, but I do think Bill Gates makes genuine efforts with philantrophy and is overall a very generous person.

Maybe it has to do with paying too much for it or paying for anti-virus and having to install spyware protection. It is ridiculous to have to defrag. The only windows boxes I have been around that did not have as many problems were work computers which served only one function, usually running a specific piece of software. Most linux users probably do start dual boot. I did. After not booting into windows for three years I finally quit wasting the hard drive space. Now I have a distro on one drive I keep to use and the other to play with.
