Hie everyone.Im new to Linux.im using Ubuntu.i know how to use c in windows platform where we can use borland or Microsoft visual studio to write the code and to compile it.But, how in Ubuntu i can write a program and compile it.which software do i need to use to write the code and how to compile and lastly run it.hope friends out there can help me in this.thanks.

In short, gcc is required. Don't forget, Ubuntu != Linux

if you want full featured IDE-s you can use
eclipse or netbeans...
