I've read through a bunch of the forum messages and can't find a fix for this particularly odd desktop switching problem.
1) I have CompizConfig installed and running my desktop settings with 7.10.
2) I have it set to 2 desktops.
3) When I open an application in desktop #1, and then switch to desktop #2 via ctl+alt+right, it's exactly as if I am in desktop #1 except everything gets minimized. The switcher icon (there are two desktops showing in 1 row and 2 columns) remains highlighted on the first column. If I click on the second column, the same thing happens except now it is highlighted on the second desktop. When I try to switch an application to desktop #2 via right click on app titlebar -> move to another workspace -> Desk 2, nothing at all happens.
4) When I right click on the desktop switcher icon, select preferences, the only preferences I have are "rows" and "columns" and both of these do absolutely nothing. In order to change the number of desktops, I need to go into the settings of compizconfig.
This seems incredibly complicated. Is there ANY simpler way to manage desktop switching in some predictable manner?
Thanks,
Jason
