CD1 near the top of this page: Debian CD's (http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/4.0_r2/i386/iso-cd/)
Essentially that's choosing the i386 stable image half way down the page you tried linking to.

I would go with the business-card or netinstall releases as they also recommend them. You will be getting LOTS of **** you will never use with those CD (or especially DVD) downloads.

I second the business card recommendation especially if you use testing and above, why download what you end up updating right after the install.

I prefer testing distribution Lenny. It is works very stable.

Does the netinstall works like the ubuntu mini.iso? I would like to install a minimal like 'cli' for ubuntu, and then install meta packages like kde-core if these exist in Debian. Thanks for your inputs.

For other readers, when in need of a nice "up to date", minimal iso, try those ones from here:
http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/i386/iso-cd/
Here's a page explaining it:
