Compiz - Ubuntu v Kubuntu

I have been having some difficulties getting Compiz working under Kubnuty which I am still working on.

However it got me to thinking, is Compiz more stable under Ubuntu or Gnome than under Kubuntu or other KDE based distros?

I don't know how Compiz does in KDE, but I have never had any issues with it in Gnome. It seems to be very stable.

At my house compiz / desktops effects aren't working correctly in Ubuntu, all the window decorations disappear. But it works fine in Kubuntu on my laptop (once I got it installed).

The issue I ran into is that installing the package 'compiz' will install it for Gnome systems, but not for KDE. I had to install the following packages: compiz-kde compizconfig-settings-manager compiz-fusion-plugins-extra compiz-fusion-plugins-main emerald

BTW are you still having issues?
