Maryan Linux is a distro based on Linux Mint and uses E17 as its default DE/WM. Linux Mint E17 has been canceled because of some issues, so the developer and I have continued by using the ISO, which hasn't been released by Linux Mint. The artwork will be changed though. This distro will be tested as much as any other Linux Mint distro.
The website for Maryan Linux is - http://maryanlinux.wordpress.com/

Hi molom.
Sorry to hear about the problems (Whatever they may be) but glad to hear that you are carrying on with the project. I was really looking forward to a Mint e17 version. Hopefully this will be just as good if not better. :)
I'll be visiting the website often to find out how it's going & downloading the iso as soon as it's possible. Is there a beta available?

I'm sorry to hear that you are not allowed to release your enlightenment powered distro under the Mint family.
I think that it would be good for enlightenment if a major label would release a e17 fork under it's name. People generally doesn't know about enlightenment and I think thats a big shame.
Well well good luck with your fork and I hope it will all go well, I'm currently a happy OzOs user but I will surely take your distro out for a spin or two ;).

I think this change to Maryan is a very good thing. I love having the freedom to announce things and being able to control some little things. It will be better than Linux Mint E17 because its a lot easier to communicate and change releases without sending it to someone for more testing all over again.
Believe me the beta will be released before the Linux Mint E17 beta would have been released. The only thing that needs to be done is the change in the artwork. So for the moment there aren't any ISO's

Thankyou for your kind comments, I will announce the release of the beta once it comes out on Ubuntu forums ad the Linux Mint forums.

I bet this will be for the best in the long run.
I'll be here eagerly awaiting the first BETA!
Plus, if you guys wanted some basic artwork stuff, I've been working on a green icon them and a few wallpapers. Just shout if you're interested. (that's assuming that you guys are still gonna follow a green color scheme...)
From the site it looks like you might be going blue?

Try to make some logos, we need a broader selection and submit them with a hyperlink on the unofficial artwork page. I'm really looking forward to the final logo.

molom, you are overlooking one very important detail. Under the GPL you must provide the source code otherwise you will be in violation.
Don't forget about this, it is very important.

What do you mean by providing the source code? I haven't released any ISO yet.
And what happens if I violate GPL?

The developer of Maryan Linux has said that the beta should be released in a week (11th of February if there aren't any delays).
The artwork is AMAZING.

There is a delay until there are two people at least that can host the ISO. We need these two people urgently to be able to release Maryan Linux. The hosting Maryan Linux has isn't sufficient. If you know anyone please ask them to help us to upload it.

Molom, I could probably host the ISO on my site (it is part of Salocin Linux's project, but it is dormant right now and I need to get in contact with the dev to see if I can take it over). It might take me a little while to get hosted, though, depending on how fast I could get it. Would you happen to have one mirror set up already so I could retrieve it? If so, send me the link in a personal message.

I've been following the progress of Linux Mint E17 for a few months now. Since the delay, I found myself experimenting with Ubuntu and fluxbox. I can't wait for Maryan now..........

Ohhh God, This is like the 10th time :D
I'm not the developer, I'm the marketer, website maintainer, helper & art manager, but I don't do the developing. Maty/Marvin is the developer/the person that is getting married. Not me.

I talked with Maty O. the other day and I have to say he is an awesome guy!
I wish Maty and his loved one the very best and the Maryan Linux Screenshots look fabulous.

Thanks for the tip RAV,
Maty is an amazing guy. I am so glad I met him on the Mint forums, otherwise I wouldn't be developing Maryan Linux with an amazing guy like him.

I think there is a curse or something :D
There has been a long delay due to Maryan Linux being moved away from Linux Mint. Maryan Linux now is an ubuntu based OS that will have two editions. A light edition without that propriety stuff and a main edition with codecs and the rest. Sorry for the delay. I hope since we've moved from Linux Mint there might be less delays. Maybe Linux Mint and E17 don't mix ;)

I imagine its going very well. Even though I haven't seen any of the creations the developer has made. I can already tell by his enthusiasm and effort that he is putting in, Maryan Linux will be a very good e17 distro. The last the developer has spoke about it being close to ready, he said that its 90% ready.
