Supposedly i am supposed to be able to "Copy and Paste" files from my host machine to my virtual machine and vise versa, trying to copy a video file from my virtual machine I found that it was now transfering a 3g file with an unknown file name. Is this a normal thing that goes away after the transfer or am I missing something here.

Gosh, I'm not sure that the clipboard for Copy and Paste is large enough. Do you have real memory as large as the files you try this with?
Not many of us have tried what you are trying to do.
It's more normal to use SSH or Samba to do this kind of stuff, stuff with really big files. Clipboard uses real memory, as I remember.

I have two gigs of ram and the video file is like 100 megs.

Well then it should work. Have you tried rebooting since you installed the Tools?

Yes i have rebooted tons of time before i have even decided to transfer anything. The only thing that is bothering me is that when i try to transfer the file it gives it a no name and the size increases and the one file turns into many. Is this just a glitch or something? Will it go away after the copy is done?

I've never had this experience. I have copied files as large as about 40 megs without a problem.
Hopefully someone else here has an answer to your problem.
