Hello all,
Not sure if this was the right place to post this, so I apologize if its in the wrong section...

I was wondering if anyone was aware of any projects to create composite versions of standard applications, in the same way that affinity was trying to create a composite front-end for beagle/tracker. Specifically, I've been trying to find anyone that might be working on a composite file manager, multimedia player or photo manager, but I'd be interested in seeing really any kind of 'standard' app made to render with XGL/AIGLX.

Along these lines, I recently discoverd closure (http://code.google.com/p/closure/) a composite app to provide a shut down type of interface. Its fairly limited right now but is a great example of all the little things that could be put together into a mature, modern linux UI. Not saying that GNOME/KDE et al aren't any good, but having a fully composite environment would be pretty awesome for desktop users and converts.
