VMware Workstation Graphics Performance

I am thinking about moving my laptop from Windows XP to Ubuntu Desktop. I still have some applications that I still need to run in XP and a couple of games (NASCAR 2003, LiveForSpeed and Rigs of Rods) that I like that for the most part run on XP. Doing this because I can´t justify the money in my own mind to by a Macbook Pro and I hear that VMware fusion is very good and runs games as if you are running them on XP. Just wondering if anyone out there knows if VMware Workstation for Linux is equivalent to VMware Fusion on the Mac?

VMware Workstation for Linux and windows does not have 3D Acceleration, but you can play games with wine like I do. Go to wine's application database and look for your games. http://appdb.winehq.org/
