I was expecting System76 to come out with :
1. Home Server
2. Media Center PC
3. Home Asterix Machines
4. Handheld tablet (aka Modbook clone)
Since Dell is now a competitor, I would think that system76 would innovate to stay on top.
Whats up?

Good question. However I don't think they even make their own machines even now. They just customize it and they do a pretty good job at it. Just like you I would like to see the things you mentioned as well. But above all I just want a mobile phone with Ubuntu on it! I bet that would be a great device. I know there are some projects out there but it is still not here yet.

By the way which of the System76 laptops is the best for people who are into web development?

I'm actually a web developer myself and I just purchased a Pangolin Value (hasn't arrived yet though). I have the 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo along with 4 gigs of ram. I have all of the ram because I'm mostly likely going to be running virtual OSs for when I need to test my web pages on different browsers (I find this proves to be the most accurate way).
The one fault I think I'm going to have with it is it's low resolution, however there was no option for 1440x900 sadly. I prefer to have as much desktop space as possible when coding.
I got the GeForce 8600M GT 256Mb mainly because I plan to dual boot it for some casual gaming. (However, if I have good luck with getting Counter-Strike Source to run in Linux, I may not even do it).
Anyway, I personally think the main issues with their laptops right now is that they are simply too fat. The Pangolin is 1.74" tall while a MacBook Pro is 1.00". Quite the difference. I would like to see the height brought down to at least 1.00-1.20". I'd probably sell my laptop then and get a new one, lol.
But yeah, higher resolution options and thinner laptops are my main concerns. Besides that, keep up the good work. I'll let everyone know truly how awesome my laptop is when it arrives. w00t.
Oh! And another pickle I have is with the laptop CD-Rom tray. That should obviously be a slide-in CD-Rom. Trays should never have been, not even with PCs. Just another pet peeve of mine, I guess.

It would be cool to see something as sleek as the MBP or even the regular macbook.
I would look into buying one for sure, if the thickness could be dropped.

I definitely like what they have done with their laptop casings 1 they are always very slick
My favourite one right now, is the white Gazelle value. I love the fact that it has the metal plating on it, which to me is fairly unique branding. If they can somehow solidify a style like that, brand recognization would be far better.
The BMW of Linux!
BTW, the serval has 1400x900 res ~ so I guess you could have gotten that. If you max out each laptop, they come to similar prices as well.

I didn't get the Serval because of it's shorter battery life and the fact the battery is actually bigger (and also sticks out). Oh well. When I get my Pangolin, I'm sure I'll be happy with it.

Its just the thickness that bothers me.
After seeing and getting to use macbooks, everything else looks kinda fat.
