question on wine installation ?

New to this community and as you can tell by my user name I am presently a Windows user but am looking to install Ubuntu on my system.
Does Ubuntu come with wine already installed so that I can run Windows files ?
If not, can anyone assist me in how to install it once I reformat my HD and install Ubuntu ?
I have a lot of applications in the office that I would love to be able to use on Ubuntu.

I am new to wine also but hopefully this can help. Questions what type of apps are your going to try to run in wine? Depending on the apps usually linux has a sub for it. Also ubuntu comes with wine but not the latest updated version. I think it comes with 9.46. You can install it with the synaptic package manager. I hope this help.

i am planning to run office applications as well as maybe photoshop and Microsoft Visual Web Developer for web development.
In office the only thing that worried me is will the free office tool in linux read MSFT Office documents and will I be able to edit them ?
got any suggestion ?
