OK, I have an odd problem. I use the 9 cell bettery and the normal daru1 battery. I usually use 1 and then when it dies switch to the other one. I think this may have confused the pwer manager. Now the 9 cell only charges to around 41% and I get that error that says the battery may be broken. The 9 cell still seems to last pretty long, so I'm not sure if it is actually messed up or not. I was wondering if maybe there is a way to reset the hardware or software.
I'm gonna leave the 9 cell in for a couple discharge/recharge cycles and see if it gets better.

If you are shutting your computer all the way down before switching batteries, that should not be occuring.
You might try to calibrate the battery. There is a selection in the bios menu for that.
You also might try re-setting your cmos. Email me for directions on that procedure.

I tried the battery calibration thing in the bios, didn't really do anything. Meh, I think I'll let it be for now. The funny thing is that the power manager reports 0% battery for at least an hour before the computer shuts off.
Edit - And the 9 cell just died after 2:15 hours of use. I think it is actually dead and not a mistake :( bummer
