Has anyone else tried to install Lunar Linux?
I gave it a shot but the install was like some sort of endurance test, i gave up, went and got a sandwich and decided to stick to Debian for the moment.

Anyway my question is, is it worth it in the end? What benefits does it have? Hows the hardware support?

I've not even heard of it...Could you give more info on what ticked you off about the install?
Linux installs have always been a walk in the park for me.

yeah Linux Installs are always easy, Debian is just bliss (what i use now) and really most of them are all the same install wise.

Lunar Linux on the other hand asks me about 300 questions per install section, I could just skip to the end and install it as default but then i'm worried i'd miss some terribly important questions right in the middle of one of the huge lists.

I think it wants you to pick everything you want to install because it's meant to be a super no-bloat install. Still its all very confusing lol

Maybe I'll try it again when i'm in the mood for an explore.

Its a source based distro. So it wants you to tell it how to compile everything, what flags to use etc. I imagine all the questions were about things of that nature, which is the point of the distro; that is to customize every package to your hardware. I imagine the install also takes a long time because its compiling everything. Maybe give gentoo a try, then take on lunar or Sourcemage? Never messed with them, because i dont know my hardware and what flags etc to set well enough for their to be a real reason to compile software if i dont have to. If you want to compile some software but not all of it, as well as not having to mess with the flags etc. Try arch or crux, they have a ports system and you can mess with the pkgbuilds if you want something other than teh default optimizations they put in. But its really easy to just compile things, yaourt -Sb program will download the pkgbuild and compile it i beleive, command might be wrong :)
