Follow the link to Wines Application Database. It tells you how to install Steam, and has links for Steam games.

It´s pretty easy to setup. Still a few bugs, but it mostly works.

How can I download steam, then get counter strike to work?

So first download the latest wine using sudo or add/remove application
(Remember write in console [Winecfg] and configure it)
second you download somewhere the executable (steaminstall.exe) file
third now go to .wine folder copy the .exe file and paste it to System 32 folder in there and close this folder and writen into conlose (wine steaminstall.exe) so then steam starts installing like in windows and have FUN!!!

I'd like to thank all the folks on these forums and everywhere else who have posted guides for Steam and CS, CS:S HL2 etc as it has made my Linux life complete getting these games to work.

The only problem I have now is that it's been such a long time since I playes CS that I now suck big time and last about 30 seconds each round !!

Thanks Alot guys.... Got Steam working... Now just waiting for the game to download :) If it works as smooth as the Steam install I can finally get some friends to come over to the Linux side ;)

well i m able to run CS2 no problems but only in single player i want to play it in multiplayer mode... it asked for Gecko i installed now it connects to multiplayer but then it hangs i have to restat the xserver... any help?? i have even updated my wine
