Is there any way to get portal and the rest of the orange box on linux without using methods such as copying the dvd's and such, like a nice easy way?

okay, I got steam working, and now I apparently need to rip the orange box to disk... is this required?

Actually with steam apps you don't need disks. Didn't you get you're free version of portal from here (http://www.steampowered.com/nvidia/)? If you did than it'll download portal for you.

You need to install the steam program from steampowered.com and use that to download Portal.
