Ive been perusing the forums for someone else who has a problem the same as me with no such luck.
Ive installed steam, and the orange box as well as CS:S, but whenever i try to run any of the games my screen changes res (as if going into the game) but then nothing appears, no black screen no valve movie etc. nothing. And the resolution stays at the changed res (1024x768)
yes it's an ATI card (9600 pro) and Ive tried manually installing the catalyst drivers through terminal as was suggested in another thread, to no avail.
Any support would be much appreciated
