When I was using Win9x, I was able to customize the name of my Windows directory (and it was never just "Windows"). With Win2k, the forced name for the Windows directory is "WinNT".
When I could choose my own directory name, I had much less problems with spyware, trojans, and viruses. I was able to keep a Windows installation running for years. With Win2k, I've had many, many problems with this crap getting into my PC, and it hasn't even been installed for a full year yet. I hate running system-resource-hogging software in order to keep all the garbage out.
Is there any possible way to custom-name your Windows directory in Win2k?
