Soft synth recommendations

Hi,

I am running Ubuntu Studio 7.10 and was just wondering if any body had any suggestions for soft synths other than the ones that come as part of the package. Just want to have as many sound sources as possible to try and see which ones I like.

yeah, I'm only starting myself but there are some dope bass synths in the alsa modular synth

One interesting synth is phasex, but it's not in the repos, not even in debian afaik.

I also like amsynth.

The modular ones are also always interesting, like ams and others.
