So, i have a problem with Steam... I had this problem on 0.9.53 and the latest 0.9.54 (which it was updated to just moments ago)... I used wine and Steam few weeks ago and it worked flawlessly... This was before i had to reinstall XP (due to Age Of Conan) and therefore had to remove Ubuntu since ****** windows cant read to EXT3... But now, with the latest the good thing is that i seem to get better FPS with WoW but Steam and CS 1,6 wont work... So a reinstall of 0.9.52 (which i think was the one i used) is not an option since i play WoW more then CS and now i get better FPS there)...
I cant think of anything i have done different on this Ubuntu install compared to the previous one, except that i installed Gecko when i started up WoW and not when i started up Steam and that i now have Kiba-Dock installed but i have also tried to start it up with Kiba-Dock closed... I can also add that i have Compiz fusion and emerald up and runnin, but i also had this runnin on the previous install, so i have not tried to stop/close this since it worked earlier... I might also add that when i installed Steam i right-clicked and then clicked "open with a different app" and inserted the msi command to install it with wine... So, i use Ubuntu 7,10 and Wine 0.9.54 atm... I also have used Envy to install the latest Nvidia driver, no idea which driver version it is...
Now i think i have put up the needed info, so onto the problem... Steam runs just fine... It downloaded and installed CS with no problem at all... Now, when i click to start CS it opens, then show just the default pic with the dudes with guns and then, within a second or so, exits. It then show me desktop with a 640x480 ressolution... When it shows me the CS pic then thing freezes so i am not able to move me mouse pointer... i can not see that any other app has opened or something like that. The first time it did exit, a pop up of the update news thingie opened, but this does not show now... the last time i tried to start CS i just had steam, amarok, amsn and firefox and kiba-dock running...
I can also add that i have not reinstalled steam. I have tried though... I have used the wine uninstall and then deleted the steam folder, but when i try to install steam, double clickin the msi icon works (as i have found out by meself:cool:) it just show repair and uninstall. i have clicked the uninstall but still repair and uninstall is the only possible... so i have run the repair thingie...
I think i have put up all the needed info. But if there is sometin i have not put up, please let me know...
