i am new to ubuntu and linux all together and am loving it by the way. anyways i have been trying to find a good video editing program for ubuntu similar to windows movie maker. and i read about pitivi sounded pretty good but when i start it there is no way i can edit the clips just put them on the timeline. and i read online about an "advanced view" which i want to use but the only option under view is full screen no "advanced view"

I have the exact same question... where is the advanced mode button? Alos, no View menu.
Googling this problem doesn't brign back any mention of this as everyone seems to ignore this issue. The PiTiVi doc mentions a View menu and an advanced mode button.
Any solution?

Anybody using the newest version? 0.13.1? I'm really impressed!

Pitivi 10.3 uses the advanced view by default and it works much better than previous versions, so I would not advise to back.

Those who have used it, what do you use to capture the video? I don't believe Pitivi does though the interface and the other steps look pretty promising.
Is there a CLI capture application or do you use Kino?
