Mythfrontend stopped working after upgrade

I having weekly upgrades setup with my mythbuntu and when i did an upgrade today my mythbackend works fine my mythfrontend or mythweb stopped working.
I checked the log files and the issue is a protocol mismatch.
Backend is running Version 37 and frontend is running versin 38.
How do i fix this, I tried doing apt-get update then upgrade numerous times but there isn't an update since the morning.

Restart mythbackend (or the computer). Have you tried that?
But hmm.. that does not matter when the backend has the wrong protocol i think.. hm.

Yes I've restarted mythbackend and still the same issue.
